The Howard County Mental Health Authority (HCMHA) is pleased to sponsor this updated edition of the “Directory of Mental Health Services in Howard County”. HCMHA hopes this directory will assist the citizens of Howard County in locating needed services in a timely manner. Attempts have been made to include all providers in the public mental health system, as well as private practitioners who provide mental health services but who may or may not be providers in the public mental health system. However, this directory may not include every service or mental health provider in the county. If you are a provider who is not listed in this directory, but who would like to be included in future revisions, please contact or call . This Directory is not intended to be an exhaustive, authoritative guide to services. However, we have attempted to include all known resources in the community. We have concentrated on treatment and rehabilitation resources and other major support services that serve individuals whose insurance coverage is from a public entitlement such as Medicare (MC), Medicaid (MA). However, we have included a major section on groups and individuals who serve Howard County, some of which are reimbursable through private health insurance and some offer sliding fee scales. Be aware that changes occur frequently in agencies and organizations, so information included here may be inaccurate or outdated at the time you read this directory. It is best to call and discuss the form of payment needed in advance of your appointment.
